Our spirits tasting room is moving!

We have some very exciting news to share - next month the tasting room at the distillery is moving to our Cider Barn. This means you will enjoy the full Mt. Defiance spirits and cider experience under the same roof, at one location - the Barn.

Beginning May 31st you can sip Mt. Defiance's handcrafted cocktails and spirits in our new spirits tasting spaces at the Barn - and purchase all of your favorite bottles too.

Save the date for the grand opening of our new Patio Bar at the Barn on Saturday May 31st from 12pm-8pm, we'll be celebrating with craft cocktails, our take on frozen favorites like Pina Coladas and our Bourbon Smash, live music, food and your favorite ciders.

We have exciting plans for 2025 and beyond, we hope to break ground on a new distilling facility on the Barn property, new innovative spaces to enjoy your favorite spirits and ciders and lots of great events.

FAQ

Is the current Distillery location closing?
Yes, we are closing the current Distillery location, including the tasting room. The tasting room is moving to the Cider Barn and our distillery operations are moving off site while we plan the new distillery facility. We have outgrown the current distillery space and are looking forward to our future plans for expansion.

How long will the current Distillery location remain open?
Our last day at the current Distillery location, 207 W. Washington Street Middleburg, VA, will be Monday May 26th. We’ll be open normal hours, 12pm-6pm seven days a week, through May 26th so come on by.

Will I be able to purchase my favorite spirits bottles at the the Barn?
Yes! All of the spirits you have come to know and love will be available for sale at the barn.

Will I be able to enjoy my favorite tastings and cocktails at the Barn?
Yes! All summer long, our outdoor patio bar will feature our signature craft cocktails and come fall we’ll be opening a new spirits tasting space upstairs at the Barn, we can’t wait to share more about the plans for this new space soon.

Will the Barn remain pet friendly?
Yes, of course! Your furry friends have always been welcome and both the Barn and the Distillery - and still will be at the Barn.

What is the address for the Barn and where it is located, I’ve only ever been to the Distillery?
Great news - the Cider Barn is located only a half mile up Washington street, just a quick 4 minute drive away. The address for the Barn is 495 E. Washington Street Middleburg, VA 20117.
