Virginia Distilled

Virginia Distilled, presented by Virginia Spirits, is an evening full of ways to celebrate Virginia Spirits Month and the more than 80 craft distilleries across the commonwealth at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture in Richmond, Virginia.

Sample local craft spirits from up to 15 distilleries including:

  • Mt. Defiance Cidery & Distillery

  • 8 Shires Coloniale Distillery

  • Catoctin Creek Distillery

  • Five Mile Mountain Distillery

Live music will be provided by Weldon Hill Trio and food will be available for purchase from some of Richmond’s best food trucks, Momma's BBQ, The Gratefull Grill, and Westray's Finest Ice Cream.

Beyond tasting some of Virginia’s best craft spirits, guests will also can taste and vote on cocktail creations from the final five contestants of the 2024 Virginia Cocktail Games and help us crown Virginia’s 2024 Cocktail of the Year. 

Educational sessions will be presented by three local spirits experts:

  • Virginia: The Birthplace of American Sprits, presented by author and radio host and food historian Patrick Evans-Hylton

  • Barry Haneberg (Virago Spirits) as he explores the historical origin of sugar cane based-spirits, the essential role that rum played in early American history (as America's FIRST spirit!), and the diverse styles of rums that have evolved over the centuries.

  • Shelley Sackier (Director of Education at Reservoir Distillery) presents a sensory exploration of Virginia-made spirits.

VIP guests will have access the event one hour before General Admission ticket holders and entrance to the VIP Lounge with scrumptious appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages.

All guests will recieve a tasting glass and access to the tasting tent as well as after-hours access to museum galleries including the newest exhibition, A Better Life for Their Children: Julius Rosenwald, Booker T. Washington, and the 4,978 Schools That Changed America

Early Bird Ticket Pricing (July 31 - August 25)

  • VIP Tickets - $85

  • VMHC Members - $50

  • Non-Members - $55

Regular Ticket Pricing (August 26 - September 14 or when tickets sell out)

  • VIP Tickets - $90

  • VMHC Members - $55

  • Non-Members - $60

Designated Driver - $10

Attendees must be 21 years of age or older and all guests must have a ticket.
No coolers, pets, or outside food or drink are permitted. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas.
Event will take place rain or shine.
